The first official record of family name Puntijar, (Lovro) in Zagreb goes back to 1581. All the family ancestors are originally from Zagreb and lived in Gračani – now days residential area only a few minute drive from the city center. The first restaurant was opened in 1838. in Gračani, and throughout the years the family managed restaurants on various locations in Zagreb. It was in 1987. that the restaurant Stari Puntijar was opened on the current address in Gračani, in the premises of family house built in 1920.
